Seoul has lots of hills and mountains. At the northern part of the city, the mountains of Bukhansan National Park can be found. On weekends, especially in summer and autumn, a lot of people especially Korean ahjummas and ahjussis go there to hike. You can easily go there because it is near the train stations.
Karla and I went there one afternoon last summer. It was very late when we started hiking, probably around 4 or 5pm, so there were no other people going up with us. Also, we’re not sure if we used the common trail because we chose the shorter but more difficult path so we can climb faster. No gears. No tour guide. Just some “sense of adventure”. Lol. But, throughout the journey, we were actually thinking, “ano ba pumasok sa isip natin?”. Buwis buhay, ika nga. Haha.

Finally, after about an hour and a half of hiking, time to enjoy the scenery.

The busy city of Seoul surrounded by nature was breathtaking. It was a tough journey but as always, it was worth it! 🙂
